| The Iowa State Capitol Complex is littered with monuments and memorials. This one pays tribute to our brave soldiers who fought and died in World War II. The centerpiece of this memorial is the 50-foot tall ââ¬ÅFreedom Flameââ¬Â which stands in front of the ââ¬ÅWall of Memoriesââ¬Â. To reach the wall, you must traverse the ââ¬ÅFreedom Walkââ¬Â which commemorates the five major theaters of operations. The Pearl Harbor Memorial fronts the plaza.
