| Independence Hall is a national monument (National landmark) of the United States of America located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Chestnut Street, between Fifth and Sixth streets. It is primarily known as the place where the United States Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted.
The building is part of the Independence National Historical Park, authorized on June 28, 1948 and established on July 4, 1956. It was also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. |
