| Thonon-les-Bains is an attractive town on the edge of Lake Leman, the biggest lake in Europe, and the capital of the area known as Chablais. The first `town house` was accidentally burnt down in 1815 by the Sardinian soldiers living in it. Fifteen years later the new town hall was built by the Sardinian Mazzone. The buildingââ¬â¢s layout has been borrowed from Piedmont architecture. |
