This is a Summer picture of the controversial “Hole” in the River East neighborhood of Chicago, zillinois in Cook County. The “hole” is a 76 foot foundation from the abandoned Chicago Spire project that ended in 2008. The project designed by Santiago Calatrava was to build a 200-foot ultra-modern Tower that was to be the second tallest building in the world. The foundation was the only part of the project completed, the future of the foundation has been debated for the last decade. This picture was taken on July 31, 2018.
