On the site of the early Gothic fortress from the second half of the 13th century stands today a Gothic castle, which was built at the end of the 15th century by William of Pernstein. The castle was later owned by King Ferdinand I of Habsburg, who sold it in 1562. So Hluboka passed into the ownership of the Lords of JindrichovÃÂ Hradec, who rebuilt it into a Renaissance chateau.
