One of the ten largest cities in Romania. Located in the heart of Romania, the city of Brasov is sometimes called the Romanian Salzburg. In the old part of the city there are Gothic quarters. A special place among the monuments of culture is occupied by the famous Black Church, one of the most capacious medieval churches in the Balkans. Organ concerts are held here. At the entrance is a statue of Johannes Honterus, reformer, enlightener, follower of Martin Luther. Brasov consists of 15 districts, including the famous Carpathian ski resort Poiana Brasov.
