Hibiscus & x28;Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.& x29; is a shrub of the Malvaceae tribe originating from East Asia and is widely grown as an ornamental plant in the tropics and subtropics. Large flower, red and odorless. Flowers of various cultivars and hybrids can be single flowers & x28;petals in layers& x29; or double flowers & x28;petals layered& x29; that are white to yellow, orange to dark red or pink. In Sumatra and Malaysia, hibiscus flowers are called the main flower. This flower is designated as the national flower of Malaysia on July 28, 1960. The Javanese call it the worawari flower.
