A significant cultural monument, the Hatikva, or hope statue is seen in silhouette at sunset at the northern entrance to the city of Karmiel in the Galilee region of Israel. The statue is the work of sculptor Nicky Inber. It is part of the Holocaust Memorial Park called `From Holocaust to Resurrection.` It is hopeful and also deeply, painfully sad. It depicts the survival of the Jewish people from the concentration camps in Europe during World War Two, and their rebirth in Israel.
