| Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a major Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. It marks the triumph of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana and symbolizes the power of righteousness, truth, and virtue. The festival also signifies the end of Navratri and honors Goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. On this day, effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran are burned to remind people that evil, no matter how strong, always falls before truth and goodness. People celebrate by organizing Ramleela plays, offering prayers, and exchanging festive greetings with loved ones. Dussehra spreads the message of courage, unity, and the importance of living a life guided by dharma (righteousness). |
