Kungliga Slottet, Stockholm`s Royal Palace, is a large Baroque palace built in the early 18th century at Gamla Stan district. Rikssalen is the Hall of State of the palace. Carl HÃ¥rleman was the architect in charge of the room`s interior design. HÃ¥rleman formed the room closely to plans drawn up by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. The room was ready for the Parliamentary Opening of 1755 and was where parliamentary meetings where held under the chairmanship of the King. The silver throne was a gift to Queen Kristina from Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie for her coronation in 1650. It was made by a goldsmith in Augsburg, Germany.
