MOSCOW, RUSSIA - The Grotto pavilion was built on the grounds of Sheremetyev`s Kuskovo Estate by project of Russian architect Fyodor Argunov in 1755-1761. The Grotto is the most remarkable of Kuskovoââ¬â¢s pavilions. It was a resting/cooling place for guests on hot summer days. The building was designed to seem like an underwater cave with its sea shell decorations and greenish color. |
