| This is a Fall picture of the Akeside view of the historic Grosse Point Lighthouse looming over Fall foliage located on the lakefront in Evanston, Illinois in Cook County. The 113 foot tower was constructed n 1873, is an example of Italianate architecture, and the construction was supervised by Orlando Metcalf Poe. The Lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 8, 1976 and was declared a National Landmark on January 20, 1999. This picture was taken on October 31, 2016. |
