| The Green Lake is a karst lake in Styria in Austria. It is 776 m above sea level. A. in the municipality of TragöÃ-Sankt Katharein in the district of Oberort, in the Gesäuse Nature Park. The lake is dammed up on a landslide mass that slid from the southern flank of the Messnerin towards Tragöà in prehistoric times.The Green Lake is known for its crystal clear water that is emerald green in color. This color is caused by the high lime content of the water and the algae that live in the lake. The lake is also very clear, so you can see down to 30m. |
