Great Crested Grebe & x28;scientific name: Podiceps cristatus& x29;, also known as Langlibai, is a member of the grebe family of water birds noted for its elaborate mating display. The adults are unmistakable in summer with head and neck decorations. In winter, this is whiter than most grebes, with white above the eye, and a pink bill. It& x27;s easy to tell, they have long, slender necks, and prominent black feather crowns. It is the largest physique. Adults are more than 50 centimeters long, with little difference between males and females. Feeds on mollusks, fish, crustaceans and aquatic plants. |
