A diamond is a diamond cut by a jeweler. According to its earthly origin, the diamond is 100 percent carbon, which crystallized during the volcanic activity millions of years ago, and eventually it turned out to be the most solid and metastable stone in nature. It is this property that is reflected in its name, some believe that it originated from the Greek `Adamas` - invincible, others believe that from the Arabic `almas` - over solid. It was the latter property that for a long time was a significant complication for jewelers, in ancient times they used stones either completely without cutting or with minimal cutting of the stone. Still, the demand for cutting was in the first place, as the stones with many faces were shining much stronger than stones with smoothed edges. Using other diamonds for cutting, namely stones rubbing among themselves, the jewelers came to the production of the first diamonds, then the 57-sided ideal shape of the diamond was born. As a rule, in the upper part of the stone, it is round and complex, consisting of two cones, the upper of which is the most truncated. Extremely difficult and especially important to take into account the proportions of cones, because too elongated will absorb light inside, which will make the diamond somewhat darkened and the base. On the contrary, a too flat cone will turn an expensive stone into a cheap glass.
