The most beautiful and mesmerizing event in Ujjain is the famous ceremony of Kshipa Aarti at Ram Ghat. Occurring every evening at dusk on the shore of the Kshipra River, a group of young priests perform several stages of offering and prayer to the goddess. These include the blowing of conch shells, ringing of bells, waving incense, and raising a series of fire lamps, all perfectly synchronized while chanting mantras. Each stage of the ceremony is repeated in four directions, giving all attendees a personalized view.
