Gymnothorax javanicus - The largest of the moray Eel family. Widespread in the Indo-pacific area. Commonly found in shallow waters of dive sites. Whilst they look menacing they have to open and close their mouths to breath. They are in fact quite blind and rely on their sense of smell to feed. Most Morays hunt at night time.
