| The magnificent Tudor Gatehouse is the main visitors entrance to Charlecote House which lies approximately five miles from Stratford upon Avon. Originally built in the 16th century, the current house is on the site of an earlier medieval building. Further improvements and changes were made to the house in the nineteenth century. The Lucy family, whose descendants still live in part of the house, have owned the estate since the 13th century. |
