| Stand-up comedian and observational humorist, Freddie Roman, entertains at the Toyota Comedy Festival at Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan on June 3, 1993. He is known as a `Borscht Belt` comic, a reference to his Jewish roots and popularity at the summer resorts in the Catskills resort areas north of New York City. He was known for his hilarious appearances on the Friars Club Roasts. Roman starred in `Catskills on Broadway,` a comedy revue on Broadway in 2003. Roman, who had moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, died in Queens, New York, on November 26, 2022, at the age of 85. |
