Summer Garden - the oldest in St. Petersburg. The cityÃ¢â¬â¢s summer residence of Peter the Great was founded in 1704 on the site of a former Swedish manor. The layout of the garden was formed by the 1710s Ã¢â¬â longitudinal alleys leading from the Neva into the interior of the garden, transverse and radial, dividing the garden into bosquets. In the part closest to the Neva, it was called the First Summer Garden, the Peter collection of Italian marble sculpture is located.
