The silk tree is a native to southern and eastern Asia. Its botanical name is Albizia julibrissin and species of tree in the family Fabaceae. It is also known as Persian silk tree, pink siris, lenkoran acacia, tamarind, Mimosa, sleeping tree. The species is usually called `silk tree` or `mimosa` in the United State whereas in Japan, It is known as the sleeping tree. Because it’s bipinnate leaves goes fold up in the night. The flowers of silk tree may be white or pale or deep pink. The flower is found in silk thread cluster form with enclosed seeds. The flowers of such a tree produce mild fragrance and widely used in perfume making industry. The fragrance and nectar of silk tree flowers attracts bees, butterfly and humming bird. It is ornamental tree in major part of the world. And such tree may grow up to 25 ft.
