| Helianthus annuus NYS FingerLakes draws thousands of visitors each year to see the many immense acres of bright yellow sunflowers dot the landscape. Sunflower`s are heat tolerant, pest resistant and fast growing. Theyââ¬â¢re annual plants native to North America. They look like giant daisies, with bright yellow centers that ripen into a head filled with seeds. The bright yellow seed heads face the Eastern sky using heliotropism. Sunflowers can reach 14 feet in height. |
