This is a Fall picture of the historic Grosse Point Lighthouse located in Evanston, Illinois in Cook County. This lighthouse complex was designed by Orlando Metcalf Poe, the House is an example of Italianate architecture, the 113 foot tall tower is an example of a Frustum of a cone tower, the complex was completed on June 30, 1873 and first lit in March 1874. This lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 8, 1976 and designated a National Historic Landmark on January 20, 1999. This picture was taken on October 31, 2018.
