| This is a Summer picture of the iconic Fabyan Windmill in Fabayan Woods Forest Preserve located in Geneva, Illinois in Kane County. This example of an automatic wind-driven Dutch Smock Mill was built by Frederick Brockmann and Louis Blackhaus In 1875 in what is now Lombard, Illinois in DuPage County. The windmill was purchased by George Fabyan in 1914 and moved to Geneva, Illinois in Kane County. This windmill was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 4, 1979. This picture was taken on August 29, 2019. |
