Although the Eastern and Western Geay Squirrels look very similar to most people, and also have very similar diets, they really are quite different. As the name implies, the Eastern Gray Squirrel is native to the Eastern portion of the United States, and not California, it was introduced, and many now consider them as invasive. They both do enjoy peanuts though. They scamper about, finding peanuts and scamper away.
