Diana is an old fortified town on the banks of the Danube. It is located in Karatash, below the HPP Djerdap I. The fortress was built as one of the bases for the Dacian wars and providing navigation on the Danube. Today, there are remains of fortifications, and archeological excavations are being carried out within the site itself.
