Work on the Tallinn's defenses first began in 1265. Current outline of the defensive wall with towers dates to the 14th century. Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. Medieval buildings are very well preserved in old town region. Tallinn is also listed in Unesco World Heritage site list because Tallinn is an outstanding and exceptionally complete and well preserved example of a medieval northern European trading city.
