| Deer antler ferns are a group of epiphytic ferns belonging to the genus Platycerium. This plant has a distinctive appearance because it has two types of enthals with distinctly different functions and forms, with one type of enthal having branches shaped like deer antlers. This fern plant which is also known as simbar deer can grow wild in various parts of the tropics and subtropics of Asia, Africa and Australia, with one type found in the mountains of South America.[1] |
