Dee Wright Observatory built out of lava rock, on McKenzie pass Summit, by the Civilian Conservation Corp in 1935. It sits in a 65 square mile field of black lava that came from nearby volcano, Belknap, which overlaps a previous lava flow from Yapoah Cone, in the Cascade Range in Oregon. |
