InÃÂ meteorology, aÃÂ cloudÃÂ is anÃÂ aerosolÃÂ consisting of a visible mass of minuteÃÂ liquidÃÂ droplets,ÃÂ frozen crystals, or otherÃÂ particlesÃÂ suspended in theÃÂ atmosphereÃÂ of aÃÂ planetaryÃÂ body.ÃÂ WaterÃÂ or various other chemicals may compose the droplets and crystals. OnÃÂ Earth, clouds are formed as a result of saturation of the air when it is cooled to itsÃÂ dew point, or when it gains sufficient moisture usually in the form ofÃÂ water vapor from an adjacent source to raise the dew point to the ambient temperature. They are seen in the Earth`sÃÂ homosphereÃÂ which includes theÃÂ troposphere,ÃÂ stratosphere, andÃÂ mesosphere. Nephology is the science of clouds, which is undertaken in theÃÂ cloud physicsÃÂ branch ofÃÂ meteorology.
