The Palace of Culture or Cultural Palace of Arad is a building located in Arad, Romania, built between 1911 and 1913 according to the plans of the architect of Arad, Lajos Szantay. The palace comprises 300 halls which house the Philharmonic Orchestra and parts of the museum complex. In the superb concert hall, great personalities were present, over time: Richard Strauss, Bela Bartok, George Enescu, Traian Grozăvescu and others. The building is a mixture of several styles, the facade is in the eclectic style, the side wings are in the Renaissance style and the arcades in the classical style. The facade on the park side reflects elements of the Gothic style and is reminiscent of Hunyadi Castle. The building`s bas-reliefs are the work of the sculptor Géza Rubletzky. Between 1978 and 1980, the Milataller brothers restored the interior decoration and gilded the fresco. The decoration of the main hall is in the Secession style, but the stained glass windows are Art Nouveau. The dome painting depicts the solar system and Halley`s Comet. Arad, Romania, Europe.
