| Sighisoara, (Romania) the last inhabited medieval fortified citadel in the world, unfolds incredible surprises: The covered stairs also known as the pupil�s stairs was originally built around 17th century to protect the children following this path on their daily journey to/from school. Originally it had 300 steps but after the 1849 restoration there were only 175 left. |
