| Council Tower from Sibiu (German Hermannstädter Ratsturm) is a tower located in Sibiu, beneath which is a corridor passing between the Market Square and the Small Square. It was built in the thirteenth century, on the ground or being the gateway to the second ring of fortifications of the city. In time, has undergone several renovations that have altered the original shape. Tower Hall is located in Piata Mica nr. 1. Enclosure II of Sibiu medieval city fortifications assembly, which includes the Council Tower, Tower Ladder Goldsmiths and fragments of curtains erected between 1224-1241, was included on the List of Historical Monuments in Sibiu in 2004, with code classification SB-II-mA-12010.02. |
