Comedian Dana Goldberg at Black Tie Dinner 2016, an annual event which raises money for the LGBT community. This was the 35th Black Tie Dinner held in Dallas, Texas Since its inception in 1982, Black Tie Dinner has been the largest fund raising dinner for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in the nation. Each year, Black Tie Dinner selects up to 20 North Texas beneficiaries to receive dinner proceeds as well as the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the Dinner's national beneficiary. To date, Black Tie Dinner has distributed nearly $21 million. Black Tie Dinner, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
