| Based on a very unusual find in some amber, scientists know that spiders have existed for at least 100 million years.
They know also that spiders did not start out making webs, but evolved as a way to both protect themselves, and spend less energy catching their own prey.
They know also that not all spider make webs, and, not all webs have the same type of use.
This is a Funnel web, as the shape resembel a funnel.
Because webs do not last that long, and the amount of energy the spiders use to make them, they will eat, and recycle, their own webs. |
