Mijas is one of the most beautiful `white` villages of the Southern Spain area called Andalucia. It is in the Alpujarra mountains above the coast this is where Moorish people originally from North Africa who ruled Andalucia for 9 centuries. At Mijas there is a small bullring and regular bullfights are staged here and there is also a museum of bullfighting. The village is built on the side of the mountain and is very picturesque. The name is pronounced Mee Hahs.
