Mudejar-style church, built in the 16th century over the former Main Mosque of Albayzin conserving the courtyard (“sahn”) of this old temple as well as the western gallery with pointed horseshoe archs, the water tank (aljibe) and some of the starting parts of the columns in other galleries and the Arab-style ceilings over them.nnThe building of this church proves the importance of the population in this area. It was built in 1537 by bull of Pope Clement VII. It is one of the parrish churches in the Albayzin which more damages has suffered. The main causes for this deterioration were the uprising of the Moorish in the 16th century and the Civil War in 1936l. Granada. Spain
