The Chapel of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a chapel consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God on the embankment of the Kotorosl River in front of the Holy Gates of the Transfiguration Monastery in the center of Yaroslavl. The chapel is depicted on the 1000 ruble banknote. The chapel was consecrated in August 1997 during the celebration of the 385th anniversary of the entry of the militia to Moscow. The author of the project is the architect G. L. Dainov.
