Chaozong Street is named after Chaozong Gate, also known as Caochangmen Main Street, and is located in Kaifu District. It is one of the only three remaining granite Streets in Changsha City, with a length of 511 meters and a width of 9 meters. Chaozong means to worship one's ancestors. In the old days, there were many porters picking and selling water at the street corners. The streets were filled with water and wet all day long, and damp became Chao.
