As the Eiffel Tower is to Paris and the Statue of Liberty is to New York, so the Chain Bridge is to Budapest, one of the most beautiful European city, its quintessential symbol. Finished in 1849 by the count Istvan Szechenyi and designed by the English architect William Tierney Clark it unites the two old cities of Budapest: Buda and Pest, on each side of the mighty river Danube. At that time, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube, and it is said that even now, when there are 9 only in Budapest, this one is the most magnificent. Check my portfolio for the same angle but during the night.
