Celosia is a small genus of edible and ornamental plants in the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. The species is generally known as the woolly flower, or, if the flower heads are crested by fascia, the cockscomb. This plant is well known in the East African highlands and is used by its Swahili name, mfungu.
