| Cedar in Tannourine cedar sanctuary. Cedar trees are growing in height for about 70 years then in width for for 1000 years an more. Due to its unique abilities, phoenicians discovered that there was no better wood for construction and ship building. Thus its overexploitation led to a gradual disappearance of this majestic tree so that draconian measures had to be undertaken for the conservation of this unique species of tree. |
