| The cave houses of Guadix, province of Granada, southern Spain, were originally build by the arabs to protect themselves against the christian troops after 1492 during the occupation of Granada by the catholic kings. Only the chimneys can be seen from outside, inside the cave-house the inhabitants enjoy year-long comfort temperatures around 20 degrees celsius, nowadays they are provided with modern facilities as electricity and sewage. |
