The Carew castle and tidal mill, stand on the upper reaches of the River Carew, a tributary that runs into Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, south Wales. The castle dates from around the year 1100, and is Norman in design, with later additions. The tidal mill is the only one in Wales, and one of only four in the UK. This dates from 1542, and although not used these days, still has the old machinery intact. |
