In Piazza Carignano is the eponymous palace (Carignan), which is a historical building that is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture and hosted the first Italian parliament. Along with the Royal Palace and the Senate is part of the most important historic buildings in the city and, as such, is part of the serial site UNESCO Savoy Residences.
