| Grebbeberg War Cemetery is located exactly at the point in the Netherlands where the fiercest fighting took place during the Second World War. It is located in the village of Grebbeberg, 2 km 1.2 mi east of Rhenen the Netherlands. More than 400 from the 799 military personnel interred in the cemetery fell during the Battle of the Grebbeberg. Since 1946, this cemetery serves as a national memorial site. Opposite the National Army Monument is a memorial column, crowned with a bronze bell. Between the letters on the clock are simple figures of cent pieces and the Dutch coat of arms. |
