The masterpiece of Italian Renaissance construction style. Ferdinand I. of Hapsburg ordered this construction for his wife, Queen Anne. However, the palace was most widely used probably at the time of Rudolph II. The first floor was converted into an observatory, where one could meet famous astronomers such as Tycho Brahe or Johannes Kepler and there was also part of artistic collections of emperor Rudolf II. The place was plundered by Swedish troops during the Thirty Yearsââ¬â¢ War. The famous Singing Fountain you can find in the garden in front of the summer palace.
