Bednarska Street is located in the central district of Warsaw, at the Mariensztat neighbourhood, near the Old Town. This is one of the narrowest streets in Warsaw. The street received its current name before the year 1743, stemming from its upper part consisting of houses inhabited by artisans, mainly by coopers (in Polish: bednarz). Officially, the name was given in 1770.
