The town of Braubach is located in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate. The town belongs to the Loreley collective municipality, of which it is the largest municipality with over 3,000 inhabitants. It is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. It is particularly well-known for its location below the Marksburg, the only undestroyed hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine. Braubach is designated as a basic center according to regional planning.
