| Beautiful Hofkirche (Abbey Court Church or The Churhc of St. Leodegar) in winter Lucerne, Switzerland. A monastary has been on this site since the 8th Century predating the city of Lucerne. This church was one of the few built north of the Alps during the Thirty Years War and one of the largest and art history rich churches of the German late renaissance period. The present day structure was built in the 17th Century and served as the court church. The two towers of the old Gothic building still remain. HDR |
